Marvel Rivals’ Mystery Costume Disappoints Fans—No Red Hulk Skin Included

Marvel Rivals players who were hoping for a Red Hulk skin with their Captain America: Brave New World ticket purchase are in for a letdown. The highly anticipated bundle tied to the movie will not feature a new or exclusive costume. Instead, the “mystery costume” will be a skin that is already available for purchase in the game.

No Red Hulk, No Exclusive Items

The special Marvel Rivals bundle, available to players who watch Brave New World at Regal cinemas during its first week, was advertised to include a spray, a nameplate, and a “mystery costume.” Many assumed this would be a Red Hulk skin, aligning with rumors about the character appearing in the film. However, Marvel Rivals creator program member Miller Ross has now confirmed that the costume is neither new nor exclusive, ruling out the possibility of it being Red Hulk.

In addition, the spray and nameplate in the bundle will not be exclusive either. Players who don’t attend the movie at a Regal theater will still have the option to purchase the bundle in-game, meaning there’s no fear of missing out for those in regions without Regal cinemas.

Fan Reactions: Frustration and Disappointment

Many Marvel Rivals players feel misled, with some expressing frustration that they bought movie tickets based on the expectation of receiving exclusive in-game content. The last-minute revelation that the costume is already available in the game has left some feeling as if the promotion was a bait-and-switch.

As for the identity of the mystery costume, speculation is now focused on Captain America’s Galactic Talon skin. This would allow players to at least pretend Sam Wilson’s version of Captain America is in the game, even though Steve Rogers is still the only playable Cap in Rivals. Some also believe it could be one of Hulk’s alternate looks, but it won’t be tied to the version of Hulk appearing in Brave New World.

Missed Opportunity for a Big MCU Crossover

Marvel Rivals has had strong synergy with the Marvel Cinematic Universe since its launch, incorporating skins based on characters seen in recent movies. The Brave New World promotion was expected to be another exciting crossover, but the decision to reuse an existing skin has left fans disappointed.

While some are relieved they don’t have to see the movie just to get the bundle, others feel the promotion could have been handled better. For now, fans will have to wait and see whether future MCU films bring more exciting and exclusive content to Marvel Rivals.
