Overwatch 2 to Add Tokyo and Atlantic Arcology Maps After Season 19

Exciting new battlegrounds are coming to Overwatch 2! Blizzard has announced two new maps, Tokyo and Atlantic Arcology, set to arrive sometime after Season 19. Fans got a first look at these maps during the recent Overwatch 2 Spotlight event, which also teased major content updates and map reworks.

New Overwatch 2 Maps: Tokyo and Atlantic Arcology

🔹 Tokyo – Unlike previous Japan-based maps like Hanamura, Hanaoka, and Kanezaka, Tokyo will feature a high-tech metropolitan landscape, offering a fresh urban battlefield. This location may deepen the lore surrounding Genji, Hanzo, and Kiriko.

🔹 Atlantic Arcology – A scientific research station run by The Collective, a group connected to Lifeweaver. This map was hinted at through hyperloop departure boards found in Midtown and Esperança. Players may even spot references to Talantis, the fan-created map from 2023.

When Will These Maps Arrive?

Since Season 15 starts on February 18, and each season lasts about two months, Season 19 is expected in October 2025. This means Tokyo and Atlantic Arcology could arrive in Season 20 or later, likely toward the end of 2025.

Map Reworks and Other Changes

Players can also look forward to reworks for Suravasa and New Junk City, the two maps introduced with Flashpoint mode. Several classic maps will also receive updates, though Blizzard hasn’t revealed a release timeline yet.

With these upcoming additions, Overwatch 2’s world is expanding, promising fresh challenges and deeper lore. Which new map are you most excited for?
