Pokémon Company and Niantic Donate $1 Million to Los Angeles Wildfire Relief

The Pokémon Company and Niantic, the developers of Pokémon GO, are donating $1 million to support recovery efforts in Los Angeles following the devastating January 2025 wildfires.
Supporting Wildfire Victims
The donation will go to GlobalGiving’s California Wildfire Relief Fund, which provides emergency grants to help those displaced by the fires.
- The Pokémon Company is contributing $500,000
- Niantic is matching with $500,000
- The funds will aid community centers and nonprofits supporting wildfire victims
Pokémon and Los Angeles
Los Angeles has hosted numerous Pokémon events, and Niantic is further supporting the city by organizing the Pokémon GO Tour: Unova, with gameplay events in LA, Orange County, and the Rose Bowl.
A Heartfelt Gesture
With tens of thousands of acres burned and dozens of lives lost, rebuilding efforts will take time. However, this donation shows Pokémon’s commitment to its fans and the Los Angeles community.
