Wario Land 4 Joins Nintendo Switch Online’s GBA Lineup

Nintendo Switch Online has expanded its library once again, adding Wario Land 4 to its growing collection of Game Boy Advance (GBA) titles. Subscribers can now relive this classic platformer, known for its unique gameplay mechanics and creative transformations.

The Nintendo Switch Online service provides access to a variety of retro games, including titles from the NES, SNES, and Game Boy. With a subscription, players can enjoy these classics along with features like online multiplayer, save data cloud backup, and exclusive offers.

Wario Land 4 Joins a Stellar GBA Lineup

Nintendo Switch Online has already brought several beloved GBA games to its catalog. Among them is The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, a 2005 release where Link embarks on an adventure to save Hyrule with the help of Ezlo, a wise, talking hat. Another fan-favorite is Kirby & the Amazing Mirror, a 2004 title set in the mysterious Mirror World.

Now, Wario Land 4 joins the ranks. Originally released in 2001 for the Game Boy Advance and later re-released on the Nintendo 3DS in 2011, this platformer is often regarded as one of the best entries in the Wario Land series. The game follows Wario as he explores the Golden Pyramid in search of legendary treasure. A defining feature of Wario Land 4 is its transformation system, which allows Wario to change form based on various interactions. For example, Flat Wario can squeeze through tight spaces after being hit by a piston, while Fat Wario, a result of eating apples thrown by Ringosuki, gains temporary invulnerability.

Nintendo Switch Online Offers Classic Gaming at a Great Value

For players interested in retro gaming, Nintendo Switch Online provides two subscription options. The standard plan costs $20 per year and grants access to NES, SNES, Game Boy, and Game Boy Color games. Meanwhile, the Expansion Pack, priced at $50 annually, adds titles from the Sega Genesis, Nintendo 64, and Game Boy Advance. This expanded library includes classics like Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, and the Donkey Kong Land trilogy.

While Nintendo Switch Online continues to grow, fans are still hoping for additional titles in future updates. Some notable omissions include Battletoads, Contra, and the mainline Pokémon games. However, subscribers can still enjoy Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team, Pokémon Snap, Pokémon Stadium 1 & 2, and Pokémon Puzzle League.

With Wario Land 4 now available, Nintendo Switch Online proves once again why it’s a must-have for retro gaming fans. The question remains—what classic game will join the lineup next?
