World of Warcraft’s Plunderstorm Battle Royale Mode Ends Soon—Claim Your Rewards Before February 25!

The Plunderstorm battle royale mode in World of Warcraft is coming to an end on February 25, coinciding with the release of Patch 11.1. Players have just two weeks left to collect their pirate-themed rewards, including mounts, battle pets, and transmogrification sets.
Plunderstorm’s Last Chance for Rewards
Originally introduced in Dragonflight Patch 10.2.6, Plunderstorm returned in January 2025, giving players another chance to engage in fast-paced 60-player PvP battles in the Arathi Basin. With an emphasis on looting and survival, players could collect Plunder to earn exclusive cosmetics.
To maximize rewards before the mode disappears, players should aim to earn 5,000 Plunder to receive a Storm-Singed Plunder Chest via in-game mail. These chests contain tokens that can be traded for rare loot, including item level 610 class-specific armor. It’s unclear if these loot chests will vanish before Patch 11.1, so players are encouraged to redeem them quickly.
What’s Next? Patch 11.1 and Season 2
The end of Plunderstorm marks the arrival of Patch 11.1, titled Undermined. This update will take players to The Undermine, the goblins’ underground capital, where they will face a coup led by Jastor Gallywix. He will serve as the final boss of the Liberation of Undermine raid.
Following the patch, The War Within Season 2 begins on March 4, introducing:
- A new Mythic+ dungeon rotation
- The Liberation of Undermine raid
- Various class balance changes
Will Plunderstorm Return?
While Plunderstorm is leaving World of Warcraft, many players are hoping for a comeback with new maps and fresh mechanics. For now, it remains uncertain when—if ever—this battle royale mode will return.
Until then, World of Warcraft players should act fast to claim their rewards before Plunderstorm disappears on February 25!
